Gaugegrove was founded in 2024 to close the gap between what modern AI vision can do and what most factory quality teams can actually deploy. We build inspection systems that your engineering team can run, not just integrate.
Our Mission
Inspection that runs at the speed of production
Statistical sampling made sense when inspection was a manual process limited by human attention and shift hours. When a camera can evaluate every single part at the speed of the conveyor belt, sampling is an artificial constraint. Gaugegrove exists to remove that constraint.
We started in Detroit because that is where the density of stamping suppliers, tier-1 plants, and contract manufacturers is highest. We built our first pilot deployments on stamped metal parts because that defect vocabulary is precise, the tolerances are measurable, and the business case for catching a crack before it reaches final assembly is immediate and quantifiable.
The platform we built is not a research prototype. It ships with the hardware already configured, a setup wizard that guides your team through camera placement and model training, and integration connectors for the MES systems already running on your floor. Our goal is that a quality engineer can deploy a new inspection line without ever filing an IT ticket.

Manufacturing and ML experience, not theory
R12 years in manufacturing engineering at tier-1 automotive suppliers. Led quality systems at two Detroit-area stamping plants before founding Gaugegrove.
MPreviously led computer vision infrastructure at an industrial robotics company. Holds two patents in real-time machine vision systems. MS from Michigan State.
PFormer research engineer at a computer vision lab specializing in industrial anomaly detection. Expert in class imbalance and few-shot defect classification. PhD from University of Michigan.
D10 years as a manufacturing systems integrator. Has deployed MES and SCADA systems across 40+ plants in the Midwest. Leads all customer deployments and onboarding at Gaugegrove.
